Week 5 - Devlog
Week 4 - Production sprint 1
This week production officially started, so we've started creating all the art and code needed to create an amazing game.
Let's go over some of the stuff we did this week.
Art
A lot has happened on the art side of things. We started with exploring some character sketches
We den decided on a sketch and started exploring some vertical design, after that we made the final character concept art.
This really fit with what we wanted, and we thought it fits perfectly in our game.
For the rest we experimented with the environment, we wanted to make sure we had a good base so the developers could start testing, and we needed a base to start making our concept on.
After a bit of concepting we managed to create a rough concept of the environment
We also experimented with models, effects and shaders.
We set up some base master materials for the team to use during process, and we created our toon shader that we will use for our materials in the project. We've got good bases set up to continue production next week.
For the effects we tested some effects we wanted in our scene, since this is really what ties it together.
Development
This week we properly programmed a few things like health, coconut bomb and it is now possible to properly interact with things.
The interacting is fully redone compared to the prototype due to performance.
Official testing wasn't fully possible due to dependencies on other things which still have to be made like a player itself.
We did play a little with the physics to see what works for the bomb.
Files
Get [Group29]BeachBlast
[Group29]BeachBlast
Our game is a local multiplayer game where players play as two factions of pirates Who want to destroy the others ships.
